Our history

The French School in Bratislava was established in 2003 by the Association for the French School in Bratislava.

At the beginning of the school year 2003/2004, it welcomed 8 students in premises of a Slovak school in Cádrová Street.

In 2004, we obtained the necessary permissions from the French Ministry of Education for our kindergarten and classes of the fist stage of the elementary school, and an agreement was entered into between the Administration Association and the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE).

The number of our employees grew up very quickly since at the start of the school year 2006/2007, our school was attended by 94 students.

In the school year 2007/2008, we opened the second stage of the elementary school, with the support of CNED (National Distance Education Centre), which started to be attended by 5 pupils.

At the start of the school year 2010/2011, our school opened its gates to over 150 students so we had to look for new, more suitable premises.

Our new premises in Petržalka underwent reconstruction in the school year 2013/2014.

At the start of the school year 2014/2015, these new premises welcomed 200 pupils (out of that 38 pupils in the stage 2 of the elementary school). We also opened one class in the section for the smallest ones (children aged 2+).

In the same year, our school was accredited by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic, so our students may be educated in harmony with both French and Slovak curricula.
